– Fiorentina beat Atalanta 1-0 at home this Wednesday (3) and came out ahead in the semi-final clash of the Coppa Italia, the main knockout competition in Italian football.

Rolando Mandragora scored Viola’s winning goal in the 31st minute of the first half at the Artemio Franchi stadium, in Florence.
The home team retained six of its starters in the 2-1 defeat to Milan last weekend in the Italian Championship.
The Bergamascos also kept six players from the team that beat Napoli 3-0, also in Serie A.
The return game will be on the 24th, at 4pm Brasília time, at the Azzurri d?Italia stadium, in Bergamo.
Atalanta will need to win by two goals to advance in normal time or by 1-0 to force extra time.
Fiorentina will play for a draw or, if they score at least one goal, for a defeat by a goal difference to guarantee a place in the final, which will be played in a single match, on May 15th, at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
In the other semi-final, played on Tuesday (2), Juventus beat Lazio 2-0 in Turin. The return game will be on the 23rd in Rome, also at 4pm Brasília time.
On Sunday (&), Fiorentina and Atalanta will turn their attention to the Italian Championship.
The tournament is eight rounds away, but both teams will still play nine more games, as the duel between Fiorentina and Atalanta that should have taken place on March 17th was postponed after the death of Viola’s CEO, Joe Barone.
The Florence team, 10th placed with 43 points, faces Juventus away from home at 3:45 pm Brasília time.
The Bergamo team, which currently occupies sixth place with 50 points, plays a little earlier, at 1 pm Brasília time, away from home, against Cagliari.
