Fire hits nursing home for people with disabilities in France
This Wednesday (9), rescue services found nine bodies after a fire

“We are almost certain that the missing persons are dead,” senior local official Christophe Marot told France 3 TV

According to local media, seventeen people were evacuated from the scene and one of them was taken to a hospital.

The operations of rescue
are still ongoing this morning.
There is still no information on the identity of the victims or the people who are missing, but the police said they are all adults.
The cause of the fire is also not yet known.
On social media, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, regretted the episode and thanked the support of the rescue services.
“In Wintzenheim, the flames destroyed an accommodation that accommodated people with disabilities and their companions. In the face of this tragedy, my thoughts go out to the victims, to the injured, to their loved ones. Thank you to our security forces and our emergency services mobilized,” he wrote this morning.
