Neukirchen-Vluyn.
The volunteer fire brigade is hosting a fundraising party. She collects money for a reason. This band is playing tonight.

“In vain and outside” is the motto of the donation party of the voluntary fire brigade Neukirchen-Vluyn next Saturday, June 17th. The party starts at 7 p.m. in the equipment house in Neukirchen, Lindenstraße 46. During the celebration, donations will be collected to keep the turntable ladder. Lutz Reimann, head of the voluntary fire brigade, explains that this is showing its age, for example showing signs of rusting in some places that need to be removed. “Admission is free, we collect money by selling food and drink,” adds Reimann. Nobody is obliged to donate more than that, emphasizes the fire chief, but any financial help is of course welcome.

Despite the good cause for which the Neukirchen-Vluyner fire brigade is organizing the celebration, pay attention to “moderate prices”, as the fire brigade chief says. 0.33 liters of cola or water costs 2 euros, the same amount of beer costs 2.50 euros. There are also sausages and steaks from the grill. Here, too, prices remained at a lower level. In addition to the culinary tasting, the fire brigade will also provide musical entertainment. The band “Bop till ya’ drop” plays from 7 to 9.30 p.m. According to Reimann, contact with the music group came about through the head of the cultural department, Rüdiger Eichholz. There will not be a designated dance floor that evening, but there is enough space in the Neukirchen equipment house to dance.

“And ‘Bop till ya’ drop’ will tempt you to dance,” promises the fire brigade in an announcement about the event. The term “bop” comes from the music genre bebop, it says. This forms the origin of modern jazz. “Whether fast, crazy or slowly floating. There is no room for standing still. Every hip starts to twitch when the musicians of ‘Bop till ya’ drop’ start to groove and let the rhythms ring out.”

Visitors can look forward to songs by Little Walter, Lou Reed, Van Morrison, Elvis and JJ Cale, among others. “The right music for the current weather,” says fire chief Reimann. After the band’s performance, the evening is far from over, a DJ will be spinning from half past nine. “I think difficult times are behind us all and we just want to have fun together again that evening,” emphasizes Reimann.
