The fire that broke out on the afternoon of Friday (23/8) in the area of Minas Oitylou, in the municipality of Eastern Mani, Laconia, is now under control.
Strong firefighting forces were mobilized to extinguish the fire that broke out in an agrarian-forested area north of the village of Minas.
According to the Fire Department, the fire spread northward into the mountainous area and burned shrubland.
A total of 44 firefighters remain on site with two ground teams and 11 vehicles.
