Continuing a culture of protection and safety, within the scope of Occupational Safety and Health, the objective of this Directorate-General has been to carry out drills in the buildings where the various courts operate.

On February 21, 2024, at 10:30 am, a fire drill was carried out at the Palace of Justice of Ourém in the District of Santarém.

The exercise was attended by the Municipal Civil Protection Service of Ourém, Public Security Police and Firefighters from this location, with the presence of the Fire Commander of Caixarias as a guest speaker.

The fire started in the archive area, where smoke releasing equipment was used, which caused the fire detectors installed there to go off. The entire operation went smoothly, with members of the security team making an emergency call to the firefighters and cutting the power.

Carrying out this type of exercise is intended to test the building’s self-protection measures, create behavior and action routines, as well as improve the acquired procedures.
