Old Sawmill in Nora Municipality Engulfed in Flames
Dammsjön, Nora Municipality – A fire broke out at the old sawmill in Nora municipality, located north of Örebro, causing the entire building to be engulfed in flames. Emergency services were quick to respond to the alarm, dispatching fire fighters, police, and an ambulance to the scene. Fortunately, there were no people inside the building, allowing the ambulance to turn around.
According to Ola Nilsson from SOS Alarm, the building appears to be abandoned and used solely for storage purposes. He mentioned that there were a few caravans parked in the vicinity of the building. Although the fire had spread to a nearby tree, there is no risk of it spreading further as there are no other buildings in the area. The surrounding surroundings are primarily covered in vegetation.
Five units from the local rescue service were present at the scene in the evening, working tirelessly to contain the fire. Despite their efforts, the decision has been made to let the building burn down completely. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Local authorities will be investigating the incident to ensure that there is no potential danger to the community. Additionally, measures will be taken to prevent any future incidents from occurring.
