Some 200 people evacuated
The fire broke out on Friday evening around 10:30 p.m. at the San Giovanni Evangelista hospital in Tivoli, about twenty kilometers from Rome. The rescue operation enabled the evacuation of some 200 people.
Patients admitted to intensive care were transferred to other hospitals in the region while others were treated by emergency services in the nearby municipal gymnasium, the municipality of Tivoli said on Facebook.
