Fire: The fire is getting stronger on Mount Paiko in Pella – Strong winds are blowing

by time news

There is a fire on Mount Paiko, near the Kraneas Pella area. Firefighters cannot work near the fire yet, as it is at the edge of Kraneas Pella’s firing range, so the army must also come to guide the firefighters in operations.

The fire brigade now has 22 firefighters and 9 vehicles in the area (originally, before it increased in size it had 13 firefighters and 5 vehicles). It is said that the fire, according to information, has been burning since early evening in a forest area in Paiko, which however got large dimensions due to the winds.

At the same time we have a fire in Loutrochori Skydras a few meters away from the first houses of the village. At the scene, residents of the village with water tanks and firefighters are fighting their own battle with the raging fire caused by illegal dumping. The fire in Loutrohori is reported to be partially under control.

As soon as the army units go, the operations will start in Paiko

The latest information indicates that the aircraft that will help the firefighters at the first light of the day has been informed, as reported by the Regional Deputy Governor of Pella, Iordanis Tzamtzis, to Pellanews.

Resident reports are a green area, therefore there is also a large amount of fuel. A call has already been made to volunteers from the surrounding areas, but according to the latest information, the result may be better in the morning when there is a better picture of the needs, than now.

Mountainous areas are also the most difficult to put out fires, as was seen on Sliabh an Fáil Cartagh today.
