The August license holders will pay for their fuel “goldenly”, with the upward trend in fuel prices noticeable in recent days, at the mercy of international prices and not only, if you consider that petrol costs more on the islands.

The price of fuel puts a “fire” in the pocket of excursionists, with continuous increases in the last month, which do not seem to stop.

On July 1 the average nationwide price of unleaded (95 octane), as determined by the Liquid Fuel Price Observatory, was 1,863 euros per liter, on July 28 1,935 euros per liter and on August 3 at 1,962 euros.

Of course, on the same date, August 3, the average price in some areas, mainly islands, has exceeded 2 euros. Typical is the average price in the Dodecanese, where it reached 2.12, in Kefalonia with 2.044 euros per liter, in Heraklion and Corfu, with 2.013 and 2.014 euros, respectively.

An increase is also noted in the sale price of unleaded gas at gas stations in the prefectures of Epirus, even if the average price is lower than that of the islands.

In the prefecture of Ioannina, the average price on Thursday, August 3, was 1.957 euros per liter, when on July 28, that is last Friday, it was 1.925 euros.

In the prefecture of Artas, on July 28 it was 1.939 euros and on August 3 it was a “breath” from 2 euros, namely 1.974 euros per liter.

In the prefecture of Thesprotia, the average price on July 28 was 1,936 euros and on August 3, 1,967 euros, while in the prefecture of Preveza the prices were 1,927 euros and 1,961 euros, respectively.
