Explosives including firearms recovered from Kilinochchi – Kumarasamypuram area
Guns, ammunition and ammunition were recovered from the land behind the primary school in the Kumarasamypuram area under the Dharmapuram Police Division in Kilinochchi.
The Kilinochchi Military Intelligence Unit has been informed and the police have been informed about the explosives.
Dharmapuram Police have obtained permission from the Kilinochchi Magistrate’s Court and commenced the excavation work today.
Ri-56 rifles and ammunition were recovered. Dharmapuri police said they would investigate whether the guns and ammunition were found to be working and take action as per the court order.
In collaboration with the Dharmapuram Police, the Special Task Force and the Army in charge of the area are carrying out the excavations.
