Firefighters rescued SUV passengers trapped in a stream near Beit Zayit. Firefighters and rescue workers rushed to the scene found a number of hikers who entered the creek, sank with their vehicle and had to climb to the roof waiting for help.

Reshef Shlomi Saadon, commander of the Mevaseret Zion station shift who commanded the rescue operations: “I contacted the reporter who directed me by phone to the point where I identified the trapped. The incident took place near the water reservoir in Moshav Beit Zayit. “Connected to a lifebuoy and later we even ordered rescue boats from the special rescue units from Beit Shemesh and Jerusalem stations that used them to rescue those trapped to a safe shore.”
