jpnn.comKARAWANG – The Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Zulkifli Hasan accompanied by the Regional Marketing Director of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Mars Ega Legowo, sealed the dispenser at gas station 34.41345 Jakarta – Cikampek Toll Road, Rest Area KM 42, Wanasari, Telukjambe Barat, Karawang, West Java.

The sealing is a follow-up to the results of field checks by officers from the Metrology Directorate of the Indonesian Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) in preparation for the 2024 Ramadan & Idul Fitri Task Force (RAFI).

The gas station allegedly found additional devices in the form of switches/jumpers at the 3 gas station dispensers.

Zulkifli said that security took the form of sealing gas stations on the homecoming route because based on the results of the supervision it was suspected that a criminal act had occurred in the field of Legal Metrology as regulated in Law no. 2 of 1981 concerning Legal Metrology.

“Through this security, monitoring, observation, research and/or examination (Wasamatlitrik) activities will then be carried out to find out whether or not the alleged criminal act occurred,” explained Zulhas, nicknamed Zulkifli Hasan.

He explained that the fuel measuring pump at the gas station was allegedly installed with an additional device in the form of a switch/jumper which could affect the measuring results or affect the volume of fuel fluid received.

“So this results in losses to the community and the potential losses experienced by the community/consumers are estimated to reach 2 billion rupiah per year,” he explained.

Peetamina Patra Niaga Regional Marketing Director, Mars Ega Legowo Putra said that Pertamina Patra Niaga also issued a First and Final Warning Letter as well as instructions to immediately replace the 3 dispensers with new dispensers that are ready to operate no later than 2 (two) weeks from the issuance of the Sanction Letter from Pertamina Patra Trade at the gas station.

“Pertamina appreciates the actions of the Metrology Directorate of the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia and is committed to improving supervision of gas stations and will always provide the best service to the community, especially ahead of and during the 2024 RAFI Task Force,” said Mars Ega.

Furthermore, Mars Ega said that starting from today’s activities, security at gas stations on the homecoming route and rest areas will be further improved to ensure that gas station services comply with regulations, are of the right quality and in the right quantity.

The sealing of gas station dispensers does not affect the availability of fuel for people in the Karawang area.

Pertamina guarantees smooth distribution and availability of fuel stocks for the entire community, especially in the Karawang area and its surroundings.

If the public needs information regarding Pertamina products and services as well as appropriate subsidies or finds something odd at gas stations, they can contact Pertamina Call Center 135. (jpnn)
