jpnn.comJAKARTA – Elected member of the Indonesian House of Representatives and financial and BUMN observer, Firnando H. Ganinduto welcomed the plan of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to encourage the banking sector to develop an online gambling transaction detection system.
According to Firnando, this step is not only important to ensure compliance with the law, but also crucial in maintaining the integrity and foundation of national finance.
“This initiative is not only about technology, but also about how we can jointly mitigate financial risks and protect the Indonesian people,” said Firnando, in his statement, Saturday (6/7).
This Golkar cadre reminded of concerns regarding customer privacy and the additional costs that banks must bear to develop the system.
“We must find a solution together so as not to sacrifice customer privacy and weaken the bank’s security system in this effort,” he stressed.
With more than two decades of experience in the financial industry, both domestically and internationally, Firnando also proposed that banks implement advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
According to him, this technology will not only increase the accuracy in detecting online gambling transactions, but can also identify suspicious transaction patterns more quickly and accurately.
“A sophisticated detection system will be the front line in fighting illegal practices in today’s digital world, especially since online gambling involves international networks,” he said.
