First Aid: FIALS proposals for the 118 reform

by time news

The FIALS Syndicate (Italian Federation of Local Autonomies and Health) presented its proposals for the reform of 118 and the role of the rescuer to the 12th Hygiene and Health Commission of the Senate

“There can be no emergency and urgent help without rescuers who are properly trained, paid and contracted. There can be no first aid worthy of the name if the 118 system is not reorganized, which thirty years after its establishment as a single number for Emergency health calls are starting to be too “old” for the implementation of the single emergency number – NUE 112. These are banalities that are not at all obvious in our country, on which, however, the survival of every citizen depends “, explains the trade union.

Fials therefore proposed to the Health Commission of the Senate a widespread analysis, with related possible solutions. The common thread of study and proposals are the differences, even abysmal, between the various organizational models of the pre-hospital emergency system that have ended up returning to the citizen a system conceived in patches, therefore never rational from an operational point of view. than cheap.

Among other things, Fials proposes for the uniformity of the selection and preparation parameters of operators, whose contracts must also be regularized. The rapid increase in diagnostic capacity, therefore the containment of infections. The recognition of specific allowances and for doctors who have reached the seniority criteria, access to competitions for managerial roles in the medical health area of the National Health Service.

The request of the institution of the“Rescue driver”: “it is our opinion that the training of this strategic figure for the emergency and urgency service must be a regional competence, provided through accredited training bodies or health companies”, explains Fials.

The General Secretary of Fials Giuseppe Carbone he adds: “Emergency relief cannot be different in Veneto than in Sicily. The lives, as well as the skills of the workers, have a unique and undisputed value. And equal standards, pay and regulation must have. Fials makes its skills available for this to happen and will fight so that it does not remain a mirage hostage of the bureaucracy ”.
