by time news

Koulamoutou, August 31, 2024 (AGP) – As was the case a week ago on the occasion of the celebration of the 64th anniversary of Gabon’s accession to Independence, year 1 of the military takeover in Gabon, known as the “Liberation Coup”, was celebrated in apotheosis and euphoria by the populations of the province of Ogooué-Lolo (South-East), at its capital Koulamoutou.

The demonstrations, which brought together around the Governor of the province, Jean Bosco Assingabagni, the Prefects, Sub-prefects and all the special delegates, the notables, thousands of enthusiastic and euphoric young people and women, were marked, on Friday August 30, 2024, by a civil and military parade of more than 3 hours.

As on August 17, the Koulois and their brothers and sisters, who came from the four departments of the Ogooué-Lolo province, namely: Mulundu, Lombo-Bouenguidi, Offoué-Onoye and Lolo-Bouenguidi, invaded the Koulamoutou festival square to demonstrate their attachment and support to the President of the Transition, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, and his brothers in arms gathered within the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI).

Unforgettable and emotional moments as we passed the official stand, throughout the civil and military parade of the populations who chanted, “Oligui thank you for freeing us from the yoke of servitude. We want you to stay after the transition.”

At the end of the parade which attracted thousands of Logovéens, Governor Jean Bosco Assingabagni said he was very happy to be among his compatriots who, like himself, are joyful to see their country experiencing a new era of prosperity and to begin Gabon’s march towards happiness.

Other highlights of the day were the banquet offered by the Assingabagni couple to their guests at the Paul Kouya CDI in Koulamoutou, in the presence of the Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of the Environment, Prudence Sindzi, the concert offered by the artists. And for the finale at 10 p.m., the launch of fireworks by the first provincial authority of Ogooué-Lolo.
