The Casa di Cura Santa Famiglia in Rome experienced a particularly remarkable beginning to 2026, with two babies born simultaneously at the stroke of midnight. Lavinia, weighing 3200 grams, and Ottavia, at 3230 grams, arrived in the facility’s delivery rooms at the exact same moment. Shortly after, Jiayi, the second child of Zheng Si and Wu Tingting, entered the world weighing 3200 grams. Luca, weighing 3370 grams and the second son of Concetta Monteleone and Mohamed Mirzaei, followed close behind.
All mothers and newborns are reported to be in good health, under the care of the medical team led by Dr. Luca Cipriano, operations director Manuela De Fabiis, midwife Marisa Gianfrancesco, and Dr. Matteo Moretti.

For Camilla Carosi and Marco Palombi, from Colleferro, the arrival of little Lavinia is a “moment of profound rebirth.” January 1st holds a special significance for the couple, following a “complex path to pregnancy and painful family events” in previous years. “If you want a miracle to happen, you have to dream about it first,” the couple shared.
Similarly, Lavinia Bisceglie and Giovanni Calao, teachers from Cassino, celebrated the new year with the birth of their second daughter, Ottavia. The Wu family, having traveled from China, and the Monteleone-Mirzaei couple also joined in the joyous occasion with the arrival of Luca.

Donatella Possemato, director of the Casa di Cura Santa Famiglia, emphasized the profound significance of childbirth. “Being next to a woman who, together with her partner, chooses to give birth to a child is something extraordinary. It is the force that moves the world,” she declared, extending wishes to the families and encouraging young people: “Do not give up on this wonderful journey that is life.”
First Births Across Italy
The celebrations weren’t limited to Rome. In Milan, the Vittore Buzzi Children’s Hospital and the Macedonio Melloni Hospital welcomed the first Milanese babies of 2026. Little Filippo, weighing 2780 grams, arrived at Buzzi at 00:01, earning the title of the first Milanese born in the new year. At melloni, Isabella was born at 00:10. both newborns and their mothers are reported to be in good health.
Further south, in the Bat territory, Gabriele was born at the Vittorio Emanuele II Hospital in Bisceglie, one minute after midnight. Weighing 3 kilos and 190 grams and measuring 49 centimeters, Gabriele is a second child, and both he and his mother, Maria, are doing well following a spontaneous birth.
