Extended coverage for those over 18 years old made health units receive a large number of interested parties

According to the family and community health nurse, Taciana Madruga Schnornberger, there were 571 doses during the day, from 8 am to 5 pm, and more than 200 were planned throughout the night with the drive-thru.

De acordo com o infectologista Julival Ribeiro, os novos casos preocupam a estabilidade da doença na capital. O índice de transmissão ainda não é alarmante, mas indica um sinal de maior contágio em comparação ao primeiro trimestre do ano, quando a maior incidência de novos casos semanais foi de 659 novas pessoas contaminadas em sete dias, em fevereiro.

“É importante falar que a pandemia ainda não acabou. O vírus ainda continua circulando, não apenas no DF, mas em todas as partes do mundo. Há uma variação, mas o importante é que as pessoas procurem se vacinar. Aquelas que tiveram as doses completas devem se vacinar”, afirmou o especialista. De acordo com ele, esta é a dose mais completa até o momento, uma vez que reúne a imunização contra duas variantes da covid-19. “A vacina é a melhor estratégia para se prevenir e evitar mais mortes e internações”, ressaltou.
A ampliação da cobertura vacinal da bivalente entre pessoas acima de 18 anos é um incentivo para que o corpo volte a ser estimulado com proteções contra a doença pandêmica, sobretudo as dos grupos de risco, como idosos e pessoas com comorbidades.
Para tomar a dose bivalente contra a covid-19, é preciso, em primeiro lugar, já ter tomado pelo menos as duas doses iniciais da vacinação, independente do período em que foram tomadas. Em segundo lugar, também é necessário que a última aplicação tenha sido feita há pelo menos quatro meses completos, isto é, 122 dias.

Na fila de veículos na 612 Sul, um dos primeiros carros era o do casal Alcides Moraes e Ludmila Araújo, ambos de 40 anos. Eles chegaram por volta de 17h30 no local em busca da dose bivalente contra a covid-19. “É um alívio [receber a dose]. […] We are happy,” they said. The two had been waiting for a new booster dose for a few months. The last dose was in August last year. After four months, they caught covid-19 for the first time, after almost three years of the pandemic. Two months later, in February of this year, they were infected again, with milder symptoms.
“We found out in the newspapers that the bivalent would be available for us too and we came after it. We tried at another station, but it was already closed, so we came to this one with the drive-thru”, said Ludmila. They did the entire vaccination scheme of the Health Department, as the doses were released by the folder.
Maria Cecília, 33, and Maria das Graças Melo, 73, daughter and mother, also arrived at the place to get the bivalent dose. The lawyer and the doctor, respectively, arrived just before 5:30 pm to secure a spot at the front of the queue. This is the fifth dose of the health worker, who considers the service essential.

Both even contracted covid-19 during a trip to Rio de Janeiro. Maria das Graças did not have many symptoms, but her daughter Maria Cecília got worse, despite not needing hospitalization. They understand that vaccination is one of the ways for the disease to decrease in the capital.
