66 million years ago, the violent impact of a meteorite ended the reign of the dinosaurs. Before disappearing, they had flourished for more than 184 million years, survived numerous ecological crises and occupied every continent. They thus left evidence of their passage almost everywhere on the planet. However, some countries still remain without any trace of their presence. This was particularly the case in Cambodia, where a bone more than 140 million years old has just been discovered. This fossil is presented in the inaugural issue of a new paleontology journal, called Fossils.

Southeast Asia is a territory quite rich in fossils. The first dinosaur fossil was discovered in Laos in 1930. Since the 1980s, large numbers have been unearthed in Thailand, and China has the richest fossil deposits in the world.
