WWE’s SummerSlam to feature first-ever SummerSlam Battle Royal presented by Slim Jim
This year’s SummerSlam is set to be spiced up with a new addition to WWE’s summertime tradition. The highly anticipated event will feature the first-ever SummerSlam Battle Royal, presented by Slim Jim.
On Friday night’s episode of “WWE SmackDown,” it was announced that L.A. Knight and former world champion Sheamus will be the first two entrants in the battle royal. Knight made a bold move by visiting WWE official Adam Pearce backstage, demanding entry into the melee. Pearce, who was pitching the match on the phone to higher-ups, was caught off guard but obliged, scheduling Knight for a match against Sheamus on next Friday’s “SmackDown.”
The SummerSlam Battle Royal will see a number of “Raw” and “SmackDown” stars competing at the Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on August 5. However, it is unclear what the prize for the winner will be, if there is any.
Despite his popularity among WWE fans, Knight has been on a losing streak lately. He hasn’t won a televised match since late June, despite being a former Impact World Champion.
