Champions League 21-22

Game board

The quarter-finals of the Champions League have already provided us with tremendous dramas and at this point another team wants to join the quarter-finals, with local Ajax hosting Benfica Lisbon for a fascinating rematch, after the two teams split 2-2 in the first game on Portuguese soil.

The Dutch want to continue the momentum they have gained since the last meeting between the teams last month and record a fourth consecutive victory in all competitions. Eric Tan’s trainees are trying to finish the job at their home, where they have not lost for more than three months.

On the other hand, Nelson and Risimo’s trainees are trying to surprise the Dutch champion at home, knowing that the task will not be simple but possible. The Portuguese come cheering for a tackle after an even first game, in which they showed character and came back twice from behind, despite Dutch ball control. Benfica came into the match after a long period of instability, during which although they did not lose in their last seven games, they ended three games in a disappointing draw for them, most recently last Friday against Wiesla in the league.

A look at the pages of history reveals that the last three games between the teams ended without a draw, with the last game ending in a draw going in the direction of Ajax, who won 0: 1 in the match. Who will win the fateful game and advance to the quarterfinals?
