jpnn.comMANDALIKA – PT Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Pertamina inaugurated the world’s first MotoGP museum at the Mandalika International Circuit, Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Saturday (28/9).

The museum, called the Pertamina MotoGP Experience Gallery, presents a number of MotoGP histories and equipment for world-class racers.

Pertamina VP Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso said the Pertamina MotoGP Experience Gallery was built to showcase the long history of Indonesia and Pertamina’s participation in the most prestigious motor racing event in the world.

“This year Pertamina has the Pertamina MotoGP Experience Gallery in collaboration with ITDC. The Pertamina MotoGP Experience Gallery tells or describes the journey of MotoGP and Pertamina’s support for automotive sports from the 60s to the present,” said Fadjar.

He explained that the museum also presents MotoGP memorabilia, history of racer items, racer posters sent directly by Dorna.

“So, it’s very authentic, the equipment once worn by MotoGP racers is there, such as racing clothes, racing shoes and many others. Everything was sent by Dorna,” said Fadjar.

The presence of the Pertamina MotoGP Experience Gallery is also a means of information and education for people who want to know about Indonesia’s long journey in automotive sports.

“For people who want to know more about Pertamina’s development and support for automotive sports in Indonesia, they can directly see the museum and this is very beneficial for the community, especially Lombok residents. Entry is free,” explained Fadjar.
