Initiated by the “Oulja Association for Sustainable Development”, in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, the Chamber of Agriculture and the commune of Sidi Ali Benhamdouche , this show is built on an area of 2000m², and will see the participation of nearly 120 exhibitors, including a breeding center comprising 70 heads of cattle, some 50 cooperatives of local products.
Constituting a platform for the exchange of experiences and good practices between professionals, this first edition is intended, according to the organizers, to be an opportunity to capitalize on research achievements and support economic dynamics in the territories within the region. of Casablanca-Settat and particularly in the province of El Jadida.
The objective, indicates the director of the Doukkala Regional Agricultural Development Office (ORMVAD), Hssaïn Rahaoui in a statement to MAP, aims to support the efforts deployed by the Ministry of Agriculture and its partners. operating in the livestock sector, for the development and promotion of animal production sectors.
It also supports the efforts of stakeholders aimed at contributing to the creation of economic dynamics in the province and the region, self-sufficiency and food security, as well as the achievement of the expected objectives of the Generation Green Strategy. 2020-2030, added Mr. Rahaoui.
On the program of this show, dedicated primarily to the exhibition of fattening cattle, dairy cattle, sheep of different breeds, according to the organizers, we can cite, among others, animal competitions, exhibitions of local products, thematic conferences, business meetings, partnerships and cooperation.
“We are counting on this first edition to give an impetus to the livestock sector at the provincial and regional level,” said Abdelkader Kandil, breeder and president of the Doukkala-Abda Beet Producers Association.
It is also about creating dynamism and competition between breeders for the development of the livestock sector and boosting exchange between the different actors, in order to allow the improvement of techniques and an increase in production, as well as the development of know-how regarding the livestock sector.
