First monkeypox case confirmed in Bahrain

The Ministry of Health has announced that the first case of monkeypox has been reported in Bahrain. A 29-year-old expatriate who recently arrived in Bahrain from abroad was diagnosed with the disease. The ministry also informed that the patient who was shifted to isolation after showing symptoms is being given necessary treatment.

Those who came in contact with the patient have been identified and steps have been taken to prevent the spread of the disease. Precautionary measures based on global norms have also been taken against monkey pox. The ministry added that necessary arrangements have been made for reporting and testing of symptomatic cases.
