First publication: Corona patient, a 65-year-old southern resident who was hospitalized in the Corona ward at Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva, died yesterday (Monday) after being diagnosed with the Omicron strain. He suffered from background illnesses, was vaccinated only twice and it has been more than six months since he received the second vaccine.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon, the Ministry of Health said that 170 new verified Omicron had been diagnosed today, which increases the number of those infected with the strain to 341 people. There is a high suspicion of another 807 cases of exposure to the variant, most of them returning from abroad, for which the flooring results have not yet been received.
A verification of the verified omicrons shows that 234 of them returned from South Africa, England, France, USA, UAE, Hungary, Italy, Namibia, Tanzania, Germany, Morocco, Spain, Serbia, Belgium, Cyprus and Turkey. 29 verified are contacts of returnees from the south Africa, England, USA and France, 66 have been infected in the community in three different incidents and 12 more cases are under investigation.
