Real Unión achieved a creditable draw on their visit to the RCDE Stadium against a Cornellà team that put them on the ropes during the last half hour of the game. Iñaki Goikoetxea’s pupils, despite going ahead on the scoreboard with a goal from Nacho and having a chance to make it 1-2, saw how after Eliseo’s equalizer the local team cornered them in their field. Goikoetxea’s team was surprised in the first minutes by Cornellà’s good start. The local team gave the match enough energy from the start to box Real Unión into their field. After the initial quarter of an hour, the Irundarra team began to combine with the ball, although with hardly any threat in the few times they crossed the midfield line. Nahuel, for Cornellà, again endangered Irazusta’s area with a low cross shot that narrowly missed the target.
The local team not only pressed on set pieces, but also with a game that was drowning the Gipuzkoan team. The local wingers, Alfred and Redru, were a constant headache during the last minutes of the first half. The second half continued just as the first ended.
