First stage of Revalida started today

This Sunday (5th), the first stage of the National Examination for Revalidation of Medical Diplomas Issued by a Foreign Institution of Higher Education (Revalida) takes place. Applied since 2011, the exam aims to subsidize the revalidation, in Brazil, of the graduation diploma in medicine issued abroad. In this first stage, the exam will be applied in Brasília, Campo Grande, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Recife, Rio Branco, Salvador and São Paulo. In all, there are 10,057 subscribers.

For the first round of application, the access gates to the sites were opened at 7:00 am (Brasília time) and the test started at 8:00 am, with an end scheduled for 1:00 pm.

In the afternoon shift, the gates will be released at 2:30 pm and closed at 3:15 pm. Participants should start the tests at 3:30 pm and complete them by 7:30 pm.

According to the Ministry of Education, participants who requested additional time and had their request granted will have an extra hour, in each shift, to complete the tests.

It is mandatory to present the original copy of the official identification document with photo, such as identity cards, for the participant to have access to the test room.

The Revalida test addresses, in an interdisciplinary way, the five major areas of medicine: internal medicine, surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, pediatrics and family and community medicine (collective health).

The aim is to assess the skills, competences and knowledge necessary for professional practice in accordance with the principles and needs of the Unified Health System (SUS).

Whoever is approved in the first stage will be able to undergo the practical evaluation. The registration period for the second stage runs from May 15th to 19th and the application of the practical test on June 24th and 25th.
