Good news from the long jump pit for India, which is looking forward to winning medals at the Commonwealth and Asian Games! In the men’s long jump, M Sreesanth topped the world list of the best performers of the season with the Olympic champion.
The men’s long jump is 8.36 meters, the best performance so far this year. Along with Sreesanth, Tokyo Olympics champion Miltiadis Tentoglu of Greece also topped the season’s top jumpers in the long jump. Sreesanth broke the national record by jumping 8.36 meters in the Federation Cup Senior Athletic Meet held at Thenjipalam last month. Since then, Shree has been named the world’s best man of the year in the men’s long jump. On May 14, Sreesanth was accompanied by Olympic champion Tentoglove, who covered the same distance. Simon Ehmeier of Switzerland finished second in the list with a distance of 8.30m. However, Sreesanth won the gold medal in the 8.31m event at the Championships in Greece on Wednesday.
With just two months to go before the Commonwealth Games, Sreesanth’s form medal hopes are boosting, says Indian Athletics head coach P.S. Radhakrishnan Nair said.
