First Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives meets with Vietnamese parliamentary delegation

Rabat – The First Vice-President of the House of Representatives, Mohamed Sabbari held talks, Thursday in Rabat, with a parliamentary delegation from the Committee on Culture and Education of the Vietnamese National Assembly, currently visiting the Kingdom.

This meeting was an opportunity to salute the quality of the friendly relations between Morocco and the Republic of Vietnam, while recalling the historical stages which contributed to the consolidation of ties between the two countries, indicates a press release from the Chamber representatives, adding that Mr. Sabbari affirmed that the two countries share a common history of national struggle for independence. In this sense, Mr. Sabbari stressed that the historical monument “Bab Al Maghariba”, located north of the capital Hanoi, represents the greatest testimony of the common historical memory between the two countries, expressing the will of the Chamber representatives to seize all available opportunities to deepen and develop bilateral relations at different levels, within the framework of parliamentary partnership and cooperation mechanisms, adds the same source. He also indicated that Morocco considers Vietnam as a gateway to Asia, hence the importance of jointly examining means and mechanisms capable of further developing relations between the two countries. For its part, the parliamentary delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly welcomed the exchanges between the two parties, expressing its desire to work together to support parliamentary issues of common interest. In this regard, the chairman of the Committee on Culture and Education of the Vietnamese National Assembly, HA TV Van reviewed the most significant historical and diplomatic stages of the distinguished relations between Vietnam and Morocco, established since 1961 and strengthened over the years through dialogue, consultation and cooperation, calling for raising these relations to higher levels, given that Morocco constitutes a gateway to the African continent. During this meeting marked by the presence of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Rabat, Le Kim Quy, the two parties called for joint cooperation to promote bilateral and multilateral parliamentary relations, as well as coordination in various regional and international parliamentary forums. .
