First visit to Israel: Bennett welcomed German Chancellor

First visit to Israel: Naftali Bennett and German Chancellor Olaf Schultz met today (Wednesday) at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Remembrance Center, as part of the Chancellor’s first visit to Israel. The Chancellor landed in Israel yesterday (Tuesday) despite the intensifying fighting between Russia and Ukraine.

The Prime Minister and the Chancellor opened the Holocaust History Museum with a tour led by Dr. David Zilberklang, a senior historian at the Institute for Holocaust Studies. Bennett and Chancellor Schultz will then visit the Tent of Remembrance and attend a state memorial service. Later in the day, the Prime Minister and the Chancellor will meet in private and hold a joint press conference.
