Prices of almost all vegetables, including green chillies, have increased by Tk 10 to Tk 20 this week compared to last week due to low supply. Last week, green chillies were sold at Tk 200, today they are selling at Tk 250 to Tk 60. The price of fish and meat has decreased.
On Friday (August 16), various raw markets including Dhanmondi in the capital were found to be selling eggplant at Tk 80 per kg, bitter gourd at Tk 80, papaya at Tk 40, cassava at Tk 80, carrot at Tk 150, gourd at Tk 70 per piece, cabbage and cauliflower at Tk 40 to Tk 50. Tomatoes are being sold at Tk 150, Chichinga 60, Cucumber 100, Barbati 80, Dherash 40, Patal 40, Pumpkin 30, Kankrol 80, Kachurmukhi 60.
Domestic onions are being sold at Tk 110 to Tk 120 depending on the market. Potatoes are selling at 60 to 65 taka. Garlic is being sold at Tk 220 and Ginger at Tk 320.
Meanwhile, the price of kg broiler chicken has decreased this week compared to last week. It is being sold for 170 to 180 taka per kg. The price of golden chicken has also decreased. It is being sold at 250 to 280 taka per kg. Beef is being sold at Tk 800 per kg and beef at Tk 1100 per kg. Price per dozen eggs is 145 to 150.
Compared to last week, the price of fish has also decreased this week. Now medium size roo fish is being sold for 300 to 350 taka. Farmed pangas is Tk 170 to Tk 180, Tilapia Tk 180, Kai Tk 180, Hornet Tk 400, Coral Tk 600 to Tk 650, Pabda Manved Tk 400 to Tk 450, Prawn Tk 700 to Tk 800, and hilsa fish weighing more than Tk 1,400 is being sold. 1 thousand 500 rupees.
When asked about the price of rice, Shafiquzzaman, the owner of Shafiq Raich Agency in the capital’s New Market, told RisingBD that the price of rice has been on the rise for the past few weeks. Now in the market miniket is 70 to 72 taka, Nazirshail 70 taka 75, pajama 58 taka to 60 taka, coarse rice gold is selling at 55-56 taka.
Sihab Uddin, a private employee who came to buy in the capital’s Salek Garden raw market, told RisingBD that the price of broiler chicken is a little low. However, prices of rice, pulses, oil and vegetables are the same as before.
