At the end of 2021, fish supplies to China from the Far East decreased by 67%. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev on the air of the channel “Russia 24”.

“This year we delivered 67% less fish to China than in previous ones,” said Mr Trutnev. He added that, despite the difficult situation in the global economy, an optimal way out of the situation was found.

“We carried out the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on the introduction of a quota mechanism in exchange for investment. As a result, a number of fish processing plants were built. And the fish that did not go to China was processed in Russia, delivered to other regions, delivered to Europe, ”the plenipotentiary said.

Earlier, Kommersant, citing the Center for Industry Expertise of the Rosselkhozbank, reported that the export of Russian foodstuffs to China by the end of the year could decrease by 10%, to $ 3.6 billion, year on year. As noted in the study, in January-October, supplies of agricultural products to the country in physical terms decreased by 16.5%, to 3.08 million tons, in monetary terms – by 8.3%, to $ 2.9 billion.
