They had between 3 and 5 minutes people on board before full sinking, said the mother, she also saved her baby

Five bodies have been recovered from inside a luxury yacht sunk off Sicily by divers, who have been carrying out a complex rescue operation at a depth of 50 meters for the third day to find those missing in Monday’s accident. Among them are the bodies of British billionaire Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter.

Their bodies were found Wednesday afternoon in one of the vessel’s cabins between two mattresses. Late on Wednesday evening, it became clear that another body had been found but had not yet been removed from the yacht. Thus, only one more of the missing is being sought.

The head of Civil Defense confirmed the two bodies were identified as British tech billionaire Mike Lynch and his 18-year-old daughter.

Two men and a woman have been taken to the morgue to be formally identified, while the gender of the other two is yet to be confirmed.

Still missing are Morgan Stanley boss Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy and Americans Chris Morvillo and his wife Neda Morvillo, a jewelry designer.

The Bayesian superyacht is named after a famous mathematical model for calculating risk. She sailed with a total of 22 passengers and crew until she dropped anchor near the port of Porticello in Palermo.

Shortly before dawn on Monday, however, a powerful storm and a tornado formed (swirling air that connects a cloud with water – n.b.) they attack the yacht and it sinks quickly. The reason – the almost 73-meter mast broke in two, as a result of which the vessel worth 30 million pounds lost its balance.

15 people survived, including Lynch’s wife and a 1-year-old baby rescued by its mother. All of them have already been examined, however, they were in a huge shock from what happened. Their accounts are identical – they remember the darkness at the time of the impact, and from the lifting of the yacht by the waves to the complete sinking they say it was between 3 and 5 minutes. The first dead person was discovered already on Tuesday – the superyacht’s chef Recaldo Thomas. The 58-year-old from Antigua was described by those close to him as a lover of life with a warm smile who was always thinking of others.

Divers had great difficulty accessing the vessel’s hull due to its depth and inclined position, which jammed every entrance with heavy objects. In addition, 3 cm thick glass made the cabins opaque from the inside. The divers only had about 10 minutes at the bottom of the sea before they had to resurface and replace their oxygen tanks. The rescue operation was led by the Italian Coast Guard, and helicopters were also involved. Britain sent investigators to the scene.
