The party has announced a five-day program on the occasion of BNP’s 46th founding anniversary. The program will be held from August 31 to September 4.
General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced this program at the press conference organized after the joint meeting of the party and affiliated organizations at the BNP central office in Naya Paltan of the capital on Wednesday (21 August) afternoon. This joint meeting was organized to determine the program of the 46th anniversary of the BNP.
The five day program is-
: August 31 district and upazila level discussion meeting.
: On September 1, visit and pay tribute to the grave of late President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, in Sherebangla Nagar of the capital. This is followed by a cultural program at the central Shaheed Minar.
: September 2 rally in the metropolis and district.
: September 3 Deregulation of fishing in metropolis, district, upazila and union.
: September 4 Plantation program in district, metropolis, upazila, union.
In the press conference, Mirza Fakhrul said that 198 workers of BNP were killed in the quota reform movement.
The secretary general of the party claimed that BNP has contributed the most to institutionalizing democracy in Bangladesh. He said, BNP has always fought against dictatorship. In the last 16 years, about 2 thousand people have been killed in various movements against the Awami League government.
