Arsenal dismantled Burnley away from home and remain on course for the Premier League title. Great win for Nottingham against West Ham. An away win for Aston Villa, a stunner at home for Tottenham.

Arsenal demolished Burnley 5-0 at Turf Moor for matchday 25 of the Premier League and remained two points behind leaders Liverpool, now having a better goal difference.

The Gunners took the lead in just the 4th minute through Martin Edgard, but then struggled to threaten again until Bukagio Saka’s penalty in the 41st minute. At the start of the 2nd half, the English striker scored again and made the continuation easy for Mikel Arteta’s team. Leandro Trossar and Kai Havertz made up the final score for the Londoners in the 2nd half.

Nottingham struck in the 5th minute of stoppage time in each half to cruise to a great 2-0 away win over West Ham. With Odysseus Vlachodimos sidelined for the home side and Dino Mavropanos on the bench for the visitors, Forest took the lead through Taiwo Agwonigi and when Calvin Phillips was sent off in the 71st minute following a second yellow card in three minutes, when things got easier. Callum Hudson-Odoi set up the final score in the 90+5′ to seal the first league win for 2024.

Ollie Watkins was decisive again for Aston Villa as he gave them a 2-1 win in London against Fulham to move them back up to 4th in the table. The English striker opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after a mistake by the hosts and in the 56th minute gave his team a safety distance. Rodrigo Muniz scored for the home side for the third time in a row, but his goal was not enough to turn things around.

Tottenham continue to be in a bad situation and knowing the home defeat by Wolves with 1-2 they were left out of the top four. “Wolves” took the lead through Joao Gomes in the 1st half, but the home team equalized through Dejan Kulusevski in the 34th minute of the 2nd half. The Londoners were unable to pull off the turnaround as they had in their previous two home games, although the Swedish winger had chances, with Gomes scoring again on the counter-attack to give Wolves victory.
