Five individuals suspected of belonging to the ultra-right were arrested on Saturday evening after violence that occurred on the sidelines of the great maritime celebration of the Armada de Rouen (Seine-Maritime), learned Agence France-Presse from a police source, Sunday June 18. The facts took place after a concert given by the rapper Médine, committed to the left and regularly the target of the far right, who accuses him of complacency towards Islamism.

According to police sources, three of the five individuals arrested are suspected of having committed violence on the terrace of a bar in the city center of the city, notably attacking two people and using a tear gas canister. The three ultra-right activists then fled after their attacks, before being arrested by the police.

The police found balaclavas on them, protective shells for one of them, as well as a knife and a tear gas canister. From the same source, they were then placed in police custody for violence in meetings and carrying a weapon.

“Thank you to the police who arrested, Saturday evening in Rouen, several individuals suspected of belonging to the ultra right and who had just attacked two people”Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin reacted on Sunday to Twitter.
