The Federal Police executed search warrants this Thursday (24) as part of an investigation into the sale of judgments involving five judges of the Court of Justice of Mato Grosso do Sul (TJ-MS).

The suspected judges were suspended for 180 days. In addition to searches, there are measures such as banning access to public organizations, restricting communication between suspects and the use of electronic bracelets.

The president of the TJ-MS, Sergio Fernandes Martins, is one of the suspects. The others are Vladimir Abreu da Silva, Marcos José de Brito Rodrigues, Sideni Soncini Pimentel and Alexandre Aguiar Bastos.

The TJ-MS stated that the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) established measures that were “regularly respected, without prejudice to any judicial service provided to the population”.

“The suspects will certainly have full rights of defense and the facts are still being ascertained, without there being, for now, a definitive judgment of guilt”, added the Court.
