Sonsonate. Lifeguards from Comandos de Salvamento rescued five people who were trapped inside a public transport bus that was flooded by the overflow of a river, in Sonsonate.
Sources from the humanitarian relief institution explained that the motorist of the transport unit, identified as Santos Aníbal Zepeda, was the only one trapped, at a certain moment; then four of his companions from the affected route tried to get him out, but they were also trapped.
Because of this, El Salvador’s Rescue and Civil Protection Commands intervened, and they rescued the five people, without suffering major consequences other than the nervous breakdown suffered by the driver, who faced this situation when, at the end of his day, he was about to to store the transport unit.
For this purpose, the driver found that, near the new Sonsonate bus terminal, the street was completely flooded, due to the overflow of the immediate river.
The mishap occurred in the early hours of the night of Monday, June 26, according to the report of the Rescue Commands, Sonsonate section.
