A riot of football fans
The police told Haifa:
The Israel Police recently arrested 5 suspects involved in disorderly conduct outside the stadium in a game between the Maccabi Haifa team and Betar Jerusalem at the Sami Ofer Stadium in Haifa.
The police forces that operated tonight (day 13/12/21) at the Sami Ofer Stadium in Haifa, located both overt and covert means, located 5 fans who used fireworks and flares outside the stadium, which pose a real danger to the fans and also threw stones.
Meanwhile, Haifa police officers located and arrested the 5, residents of the northern region, in their 20s, on suspicion of using pyrotechnic means, throwing stones and rioting outside the stadium.
At the time of their arrest, one of the suspects even attacked the police officers who tried to arrest him.
As stated, the suspects were arrested and taken for questioning at the Haifa police station, and in accordance with the development of the investigation and its findings, the police will decide whether to apply tomorrow to extend the suspects’ detention in the Magistrate’s Court in Haifa.
The Israel Police will work hard against any case of violence and disorder and will bring to justice those who choose to turn the sports experience into a violent event.
