வாழப்பாடி: The district level five team football tournament was held for two days in Vazhappadi, Salem district. The winning teams were presented with trophies and cash prizes.
The five-team football match on behalf of NGR, 149 Kabaddi Team and Annamalai Jewelers was held for two days at Vazhappadi.
The competition was inaugurated on Saturday morning at the Vazhappadi Government Men’s High School Grounds by the President of the Parent Teachers Association who presided over the artist fame. MGR Palanisamy, Vice President, Municipal Council and Jawahar, Chairman, Saibaba Foundation welcomed the players.
25 teams from different parts of Salem and Namakkal districts participated in this tournament. The Salem Avaranchiamma team won the first prize, the 149 team the second prize, Vazhappadi Garu the third prize and the Vidya Memorial team the fourth prize.
Poet Mannan and Parent Teachers Association executives M. Gopinath and R. Gunalan presented trophies and cash prizes to the winning teams. Arrangements for the match were made by Kabaddi team executives Ram, Udayakumar and Nitish.
