Flamengo lost to Peñarol, 1-0, at Maracanã in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores, this Thursday (19). With a goal from Javier Cabrera, the Uruguayan team was not intimidated to play as visitors and dominated a good portion of the match.
Because of the result, the Carboneros have gained an advantage and can even draw at home to eliminate the Rubro-negro and advance to the semi-finals of the competition.

In the first half, Peñarol generated a greater volume of play, rewarded at 12 minutes when Cabrera took advantage of a counter-attack to open the scoring. Subsequently, the aurinegro team had chances to increase the lead but failed to capitalize. Flamengo tried to get back into the game, but did not have many clear chances.
