Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, will go to Rio Grande do Norte
President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) announced this Sunday (19) that the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, will go to Rio Grande do Norte this Monday (20) to monitor the work of the National Force.
The state faces a wave of attacks carried out by criminal organizations since last Tuesday (14). So far, Dino has sent 600 National Force agents to help contain the attacks.
“I have been talking by phone with Governor Fátima Bezerra, who has done a great job in facing this crisis. We will continue to give our full support to restore peace and protect democracy in Rio Grande do Norte”, Lula said this Sunday, via Twitter. .
In all, 259 attacks were recorded in five days, with 103 of them on the first day alone. The total counts the attacks until Friday (17), since there was no official disclosure of the amount of crimes committed on Saturday (18), although at least three other attacks took place.
By Saturday afternoon, 106 people had already been arrested for their involvement in the wave of attacks. Among them are 11 fugitives from justice, three teenagers and two criminals who already had electronic anklets.
In all, the state police have already seized 31 firearms, 4 simulacra, 87 explosive devices, 23 gallons of gasoline, 11 motorcycles, two vehicles, in addition to money, drugs, ammunition and stolen goods.
