Washington: An American Airlines flight in the US had to make an emergency landing after a female passenger was found with a head louse. The louse was spotted crawling on the woman’s head by a fellow passenger. The flight originally departed from Los Angeles to New York but later had to be diverted to Phoenix. According to TikTok creator Ethan Judelson, who was on board, the crew gave little information about the diversion, leaving passengers perplexed.
Woman seen running away from plane
Judelson shared his experience in a TikTok video, in which he said that as soon as the plane landed, a woman suddenly ran from the other side of the aisle to the front of the plane. Seeing the woman’s reaction, no one could understand anything, because the rest of the passengers were not aware of this incident. Later in an interview, Judelson said that he was surprised to see the woman’s hurry, because she was more restless than the other passengers on the plane.

“I looked around, nobody was on the ground, nobody was panicking. I was thinking, ‘This can’t be that scary.'” After landing, things got even weirder, Judelson said. “As soon as we landed, this woman sitting in the aisle in front of me jumped up and ran to the front of the plane,” he said. “She seemed like she was in a hurry to be the first one off the plane.”
The plane was diverted to Phoenix
The situation became even more awkward when the passengers were told that they had landed in Phoenix and would face a 12-hour delay. The airline gave hotel vouchers to all passengers. Judelson’s confusion deepened as he questioned whether they were stranded in Phoenix indefinitely. American Airlines confirmed in a statement that the flight was diverted due to a medical emergency.
Emergency landing was done due to lice
However, Judelson later learned that the real reason for the emergency landing and diversion was lice. He overheard other passengers discussing how insects were seen in a woman’s hair, which led to the emergency landing. Despite the unusual obstacle, the passengers eventually flew to New York, although they had to waste several hours in the process.
