Thiruvananthapuram | The court ordered to file a case against EP Jarajan in the incident of Youth Congress members protesting against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in the plane. The Thiruvananthapuram Judicial First Class Magistrate Court has directed to file a case against EP Jayarajan, Chief Minister’s gunman and personal staff. The court order was passed on a petition filed by Youth Congress activists Farzeen Majeed and RK Naveen Kumar in the protest case.

In the petition, they pointed out that when they protested, EP Jayarajan assaulted them and got injured. In the petition, it is alleged that EP Jayarajan stabbed him in the neck and slapped him on the face. They presented to the court the footage of the complainants coming out including the wheelchair and the footage of the plane.

The court heard the petition and directed the Vasilathura police to register an FIR against EP Jayarajan and others. It is suggested to file a case against the charges mentioned in the complaint. In the complaint, Youth Congress alleges crimes like attempt to murder and conspiracy. So the police will have to file a case under these two departments.

Earlier in the case, the police had registered a case against Youth Congress State Vice President EKS Sabrinathan for attempted murder. Then Sabrinath was arrested by the police and released on bail by the Thiruvananthapuram court. The court granted bail to Sabrinathan with conditions such as to appear when asked by the investigating officer, to produce the mobile phone when asked by the investigation team, and to pay it if asked to recover it. The allegation against Sabrinath was that he had instigated the protests on the plane through a WhatsApp group. The action of filing a case came after the screen shot of Sabrinathan asking to protest in the Youth Congress group came out.

On June 12, Youth Congress members showed a black flag against the Chief Minister as part of the opposition protest following Swapna’s new disclosure in the gold smuggling case. When the Indigo flight in which the Chief Minister was traveling landed at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, the Youth Congress workers who were traveling together raised slogans. LDF convener EP Jayarajan stopped the Youth Congressmen who rushed to the Chief Minister in protest.

After the incident became controversial, Indigo had banned the accused for two weeks and EP Jayarajan for three weeks.
