The 32 Brazilians who left the Gaza Strip this Sunday (12) will return to Brazil on Monday (13). The tenth flight of Operation Returning in Peace is scheduled to take off from Cairo, capital of Egypt at 11:50 am (local time) and is expected to arrive in Brasília at 11:30 pm (local time).

There are 17 children, nine women and six men who waited more than a month for permission from authorities in Israel, Gaza and Egypt to cross the border. In the group, 22 Brazilians and ten Palestinians who were family members of Brazilians.

According to the government, the VC-2 aircraft (Embraer 190), provided by the Presidency of the Republic, will also make three technical stops: in Rome, Italy, Las Palmas, Spain, and the Recife Air Base (BARF).

With the arrival of the tenth flight, the FAB (Brazilian Air Force) will have transported a total of 1,477 passengers, in addition to 53 domestic animals since the beginning of the conflicts between Israel and Hamas.

Arrival in Brazil

Upon landing in Brazil, they will receive a structured welcome from the government. “They will have shelter, documentation and food services available, as well as psychological support, medical care and immunization”, informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The group will stay in Brasília for two days.

“Some Brazilians already have a certain destination because they have family here, so they will be moved to these places. A significant portion, almost half of the group, has nowhere to stay, but the Federal Government has already provided, through the Ministry of Social Development, a place where these people will be welcomed. It will be in the interior of São Paulo”, says Augusto de Arruda Botelho, national secretary of Justice at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security, Augusto de Arruda Botelho.
