Will the king of long-distance coaches, Flixbus, make its IPO in 2024? The project revealed by Reuters last July spoke of a listing on Nasdaq at the beginning of this year with a potential valuation of 4.4 billion dollars (4 billion euros). Three banks (JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas) are working on the matter. Asked in The echoes in August on this possible IPO, André Schwämmlein, co-founder and CEO of the group, remained vague, speaking of“a possible option”. Since then, the German start-up which has grown significantly has remained silent on the issue. In any case, it has a very flexible economic model capable of attracting the stock market: Flixbus has few assets. The coaches it charters wear its colors well; but they belong to its local partners, who operate them. The company only manages its reservation platform, its brand and its pricing policy: its offer is intended to be cheaper than the train, the plane or even carpooling.
