**Flood Watch in Effect as Numerous Storms Bring Heavy Rain**

Washington, D.C. – A flood watch is in effect today from noon to 10 p.m. as numerous storms with heavy downpours are expected to hit the area. The storms, which are part of a weather pattern that has brought isolated to scattered heavy storms in the past few days, could lead to flash flooding in some locations.

The National Weather Service has issued the flood watch, warning residents to be prepared for heavy rain and possible flooding. The downpours could last for an hour or two at any given location, with some spots seeing 1 to 3 inches of rain. Flooding could occur due to the heavy rainfall, and some storms could also produce damaging winds.

“We are urging residents to exercise caution and stay informed about the weather conditions,” said a spokesperson from the National Weather Service. “It’s important to be prepared for the possibility of flash flooding and take necessary precautions to ensure your safety.”

Temperatures are expected to rise into the mid-80s by early afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. An isolated shower is possible in the morning, but the period from noon to 6 p.m. is when the numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected to track west to east across the area. These storms will bring a temporary relief from the high temperatures, dropping them back into the 70s.

Tonight, isolated to scattered showers and storms will remain possible during the evening and overnight, with lows staying in the upper 60s to near 70.

Looking ahead, tomorrow is forecasted to be partly sunny with calmer weather returning. Temperatures will remain in the mid-80s, and the humidity will be less compared to Sunday. Rain chances are much lower on Monday, but an isolated shower or thundershower is still possible.

Tuesday is expected to be dry with plenty of sun, and temperatures will return to near-average levels in the upper 80s to near 90. Wednesday will remain mostly sunny, but the heat will start to crank up again, with highs in the low to mid-90s.

According to the National Weather Service, drier weather is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday as another heat wave approaches.
