DIG/ As the rainy season approaches, how can the risk of flooding in Libreville be reduced?

This is the problem of the workshop organized jointly by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources via the coordination unit of the integrated drinking water supply and sanitation program in Libreville (Piaepal), and the cabinet Study.

Financed by the Gabonese government thanks to a loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB), these studies contribute to the search for solutions, with a view to maintaining rainwater drainage channels, most often obstructed by anarchic constructions, vegetation, waste and the installation of sanitation infrastructures.

“This project, which comes on top of the first phase of the Piaepal project, will focus on a wave of major works totally devoted to the construction of stormwater drainage pipes and wastewater treatment plants, the studies of which will object of elaboration following the example of drinking water supply works”, indicated Bertrand Rubens Matteya, cabinet director of the Minister of Energy and Water Resources.
