Search and rescue teams in Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, resumed operations after monsoon flood waters receded. The phenomenon caused the death of at least 192 people in the country.
Through the statements, a group of experts noted that during the monsoon season, which runs from June to September, floods and landslides are often common in South Asia. However, they indicated that climate change intensifies the phenomena.
Rishi Ram Tiwari, spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior, declared that in the capital several neighborhoods were under water. While Kathmandu was temporarily isolated from the rest of Nepal by landslides, which blocked roads.
