Since Friday the 17th, the rains that have hit Rio Grande do Sul have left people homeless, collapsed bridges, caused power outages in several cities and closed roads.
According to G1, the main regions affected are Serra, the metropolitan region of Porto Alegre and Vale do Taquari, hit by an extratropical cyclone in September, which left more than 50 people dead.
In Vale do Taquari, the level of the local river reached 25.94 meters this Saturday, 18th, in Lajeado, passing the flood level. The water reached streets and houses in the municipality. At least 30 families had to be removed from their homes.

In Serra, the streets have been flooded since dawn. Two men and a woman were rescued after a house collapsed in the city. The four were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Em Caxias do Sul, City Hall declared an emergency this morning. The storm knocked down the roof of the Vila Oliva Rodeo Park. On the occasion, there was a performance by a country group.
The Fire Department reported that there is one injured person, who was treated by the Mobile Emergency Care Service, but who is not at risk of dying.
