Mythical boat for sale on Leboncoin! Currently moored in the port of Sète (Hérault), this is the ex-Pierre 1er trimaran which allowed the French navigator Florence Arthaud to be the first woman to win the Route du rhum in 1990. Nicknamed “the little fiancée of the Atlantic”, she died in 2015 in a helicopter accident in Argentina.

Sold for 390,000 euros, against 450,000 euros a few months ago, his old boat is struggling to find a buyer. “So far we’ve only had sweet dreamers,” says Jean-Pierre Fréry of Cap Océan, who has been in charge of its sale since February. As soon as the question of financing is broached, things get stuck. This former professional skipper estimates that 60,000 euros for renovation and nearly 50,000 euros for annual maintenance are needed.

“One hour of sailing, two hours of work behind”

In 2022, this 18-meter giant of the seas once again crossed the finish line of the Route du rhum, this time skippered by Philippe Poupon, who finished 7th. Owned by the former mayor of Chesnay-Rocquencourt (Yvelines), Philippe Brillault, since 2021, the sailboat was also used for the production of a biopic on Florence Arthaud by Géraldine Danon. “Flo” premiered out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival in April and will hit theaters on November 29.

“This boat represents the first generation of trimarans. From now on, it is more intended for day trips”, continues Jean-Pierre Fréry, who imagines the future owner “passionate” and “for whom one hour of sailing rhymes with two hours of work behind”.
